Walter Röhrl is, in every sense of the word, Germany's greatest rally driver! He is best known for his performances with Audi in the WRC, but his career has spanned a wide range of manufacturers. After an impressive spell with Fiat, the 1980 world rally champion had a difficult season in 1981. His employer faced financial problems and he found himself driving a Porsche in the national championship. There he discovered the Porsche 924, with which he won four rallies, including the Hessen Rally. He arrived during the season and, despite his four victories, was unable to take the title in his national championship.
